In this gallery we will explore some aspects of a painting or paintings. What will be discussed will be the Artists thoughts about whatever elements he thinks may be important or of interest. This analysis will share reasons as to why the painting was created, the reason for the color scheme, problems encountered, how these problems were addressed, and a myrid of other possible insights. Hopefully many will find enjoyment and knowledge that is a deeper quest into art then they would normally ever get from the usual viewing of a painting. No one but the artist understands all that went into creating their art. Now you will be able to find out first hand many interesting facts about the chosen examples.

This is a smaller painting. The size is 11x14 inches. It is on a Box canvas that has 1 1/2 inch sides. The sides are painted in the same style and using the same warm colors that surround the outside of this painting.
The object of doing this painting as described was to make it look as if it was painted over these colors. Possibly as if you went to some old wall and painted on it without worrying about making any defined edges.
I first did this painting in Acrylic and finished it. What you see here is that Acrylic Painting.
I like what this photo of the painting looks like, but after looking at it finished I felt the colors of the scene a bit weak. I also thought there should be something in the distance to add needed interest.
What I did was to use the same warm colors that are painted on the edges but put them in with heavily applied Oil Paint put on very loosely with a pallet knife.
I didn't have to cover it completely and could let the under painting show through, as they were all the same colors. After doing this I used Oil Paint again and totally repainted the scene making the colors a bit stronger and interesting. If I remember correctly I also put a small Island on the horizon.
Sadly I must not have taken a photo of what I came up with when it was done in Oil Paint. I would say it looks as it does in this representation but better and more interesting. While I don't have the other example to show you, I feel this attempt warrants examination.
The painting sold as soon as I delivered it to the gallery. On the day I brought it to the gallery owner some clients came in and we talked about the painting. They seemed interested but didn't buy it right then. I got a call the next day saying they came back and purchased it.
I need to do another one using this technique.
